Info:

Farmscape, a docu-drama created by Mary Swander, Iowa’s current poet laureate, and her Fall 2007 English class, will be performed Sunday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. in the City Auditorium, 515 Clark Ave.

A docu-drama is a non-fictional play based on real events. The group researched local environmental problems with wider, more universal implications, and arrived upon “the changing farmscape” as a topic for the docu-drama. Next, they identified a list of environmental issues connected with the problem of rural land management and researched these issues as they are discussed in contemporary journalism and literature.

The performance is free and several local “celebrities” will be performing. Donations are welcome.
